MST from US 276 toward Pisgah Inn

A shorter Mountains-to-Sea Trail section with late summer wildflowers and early fall colors. Multiple rock-hop stream crossings with a lunch break at a scenic boulder-surrounded stream. Requires a car shuttle; limited to 10 hikers. Difficulty: Easy (rated C-C). Mileage: 5.1 miles. Elevation gain: 580 ft. Meeting points: Tanger Outlets parking lot (Exit 33 of I-26) at 9:30 AM, or BRP Cold Mountain Overlook (MM 412) at 10:00 AM. Hike leader: Bobbi Powers.
