MST to Green Knob and Fork Ridge Meadow

Middle Prong Wilderness trek starting at Rough Butt Bald Overlook, following the Mountains-to-Sea Trail to Green Knob, then descending via an unnamed trail to Fork Ridge Meadow before returning to vehicles. Spectacular views of the Flat Laurel Creek valley and Sam Knob, plus scenic meadow vistas. Difficulty: Difficult (rated B-A). Elevation gain: 1,797 ft. Meeting points: Tanger Outlets parking lot (behind Waffle House, Exit 33 of I-26) at 8:30 AM, or BRP Cold Mountain Overlook at MM 412 at 9:00 AM. Hike leader: Brenda Worley.
